Rajasthan Royals, RCA join hands to organize RR Women’s Cup 2022

Jaipur: With the goal of providing a platform for women who are just beginning their careers in the native state Rajasthan Royals Sports Group, the owner of IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals today announced the introduction of an women's T20 tournament in partnership together with Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA).

The event will be called Rajasthan Royals Women's Cup 2022 The tournament will take place from September 16th through 19th in Jodhpur. Jodhpur The trials are scheduled for September 16th, then six league matches in addition to the final on September 17-19, 2022.

A number of teams take part in the first season of the RR Women's Cup, representing the six cities that make up Rajasthan which include Jaipur Warriors, Jodhpur Gladiators, Udaipur Thunderbolts, Ajmer Blazers Kota Mavericks and Bikaner Strikers. Each team will be given an array of 25 players at their available, including 15 players selected for the trial which will be held in the Spartans Cricket Academy Ground, Uchiyarda on the 16th of September. The event will be directed by Royals the Head of Operations High Performance Romi Bhinder.

The six league games will be played on the Spartans Cricket Academy Ground, Uchiyarda in Jodhpur on the 17th and 18th September, before being followed by the Final on 19 September. The matches in the league during both dates will be played with beginning times of 7 AM 10:10 AM, 21:30 AM and 22:00 pm respectively. Rajasthan Royals' explosive all-rounder Riyan Parag as well as local hero Shubham Garhwal expected to be in attendance for the final. The matches will be streamed live via Indian Cricket streaming site CricHeroes.

In announcing the reason for the tournament, Rajasthan Royals CEO, Jake Lush McCrum said, "Transforming the world by playing cricket is our primary goal as a franchise as is the RR Women's Cup 2022, we're thrilled to offer this exciting opportunity to the gifted girls from our state with the help from the Rajasthan Cricket Association. With up to 150 participants from all over the country set to take part in the tournament We are certain to witness some fierce fights on the field, and uncover potential talents who could make it into the national and state team and the women's IPL in the future."

Royals Director for High Performance Operation Romi Bhinder and representatives who are members of Rajasthan Cricket Association will also provide guidance and assistance to the players throughout and following the tournament for their ongoing development.
